SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE

INVITATION FOR BIDS

TENDER NO. ME 002/2011-2012/PRODAP/G/10

FOR

FOR THE SUPPLY AND COMMISSIONING OF FOUR SURVEILLANCE BOATS AND COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

 

1. Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received Financing from the African Development Fund in various currencies towards the cost of the Lake Tanganyika Integrated Regional Development Programme (PRODAP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to cover eligible payments under the contract for the supply and Commissioning of Four Surveillance Boats and Communication Equipment.

2. Vice Presidents Office now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of Four Surveillance Boats, each fixed with 150 HP Twin outboard Engines, Communication equipment and other gadgets as shall be detailed in the technical specifications..

3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of the Secretary, Vice Presidents Office Tender Board, Luthuli Street, P.O BOX 5380 Dar es Salaam, and Fax No. +255 22 2113856, e-mail: ps@vpo.go.tz OR at the office of the Coordinator, Lake Tanganyika Integrated Regional Development Programme (PRODAP), Regional Administration and Local Government, Kigoma Regional Block, P.O. Box 885, Kigoma, fax No. +255 28 2802821, e-mail: ncutanzania@yahoo.com

 4. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tanzanian Shillings One hundred Thousand (TZS 100,000/=), or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency from the Secretary, Vice Presidents Office Tender Board, OR from the office of the Coordinator, Lake Tanganyika Integrated Regional Development Programme (PRODAP). Bidders who participated in tender No. RAS – NCU/004/2011-2012/G/1 for procurement of surveillance boats (which have been cancelled), and wish to participate in this tender will be issued bidding documents without paying any fee.

5. The provision in the Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank’s Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Goods.

6. Bids must be delivered to the office of Secretary, Vice Presidents Office Tender Board, Luthuli Street, P.O BOX 5380 Dar es Salaam on or before 10:00 am local time on Friday 14th September 2012. Bids shall be valid for a bid period of one hundred and twenty (120) days after Bid Opening and must be accompanied by a Bid security of Tanzania shillings one million or an equivalent amount in freely convertible currency (TZS. 1,000,000/=) OR a Bid Securing Declaration of a period of five (5) years.

7. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 10.30 hours local time on Friday 14th September 2012 at the Secretary, Vice Presidents Office Tender Board, Luthuli Street, P.O BOX 5380 Dar es Salaam.
